Yes but it also served the purpose of foreshadowing the slaughtrer of the lamb jesus christ and the provisions that were made for our salvation. I don't know for sure but I think this stopped when Jesus arrived and fulfilled the mosaic law.

by Terry init is little understood by christians what a difference there is between themselves and judaism; especially on the matter of whom god forgives and why.. a christian expects to sin against many people in the course of their life, but; proudly boasts that they aren't "perfect just forgiven.
" this is wrong by judaism's ethical, moral and theologic standards.. let me explain why.. in judaism; only the person you sin against can forgive you!.
if you steal from bob; only bob (the injured party) can forgive you.

I don't know how you guys come up with this stuff, but it's great. Looks like my high school education and my ever thinking mind, is just not enough to keep up. There's lots of work to be done, many things I do not yet understand. The depth and complexity of matters is something the society hopes most people will gloss over. Truth is, most people don't have the time to inform themselves nor the curiosity. People want simple answers and the watchtower delivers. The witnesses are starting to appear as a mind trap for the intelectually lazy. With this pattern of learning by rote and gradually accepting subservience and disonnance, freewill and creativity are destroyed, leading to mental illnesses. It's like involuntarily institutionalizing yourself. Not worth it.

Anger was a great motivating force in my life for a long time. It was all I had. I bitched for years to my family and was almost completly ignored. Violence would be the best protection for the inner child, but unfortunatly i'm an ectomorph. Strong but not coordinated. Power can also protect the inner child, which I don't have. I do not wish confrontation or violence on anyone. I am actually very tired but I think in reconstructing myself I will create a protective mental bubble around that child so it won't be affected. That is, I will know myself well enough that what is said won't matter. I still have to learn how to love that inner child too. I do not wish to delude myself to reality in any way to accomplish this.

I agree that mathematically the chances are greater if you get more exposure and attract different energy but have you ever noticed some people have unfu%$%^beleivable luck and others no matter what they try fail and fail and fail. Sometimes I feel like there is a big jack off pulling strings for their cosmic amusement. I could do something that would cause outrage and the next day witness someone do the same thing and not only is it ok but they get praised for it too. I've seen guys with half my intelligence get positions of power they absolutly do not deserve. I've seens things so impossible you would have to say that the person is blessed. I also know of people who are gifted and have the shittiest luck I have ever seen. It's almost enough for me to take it personal with whatever force is playing these games.

In a way writing these posts is like keeping a journal and I have a degree of trust here because most everyone here has been judged or hurt. I certainly feel comfortable here. This is a place of new beginnings and therapeutic ideas like yours. I don't discount your advice either. It has merit, but for me it's like learning a new language. We were raised to always look at the worst possilble scenario's so we would be prepared for whatever. We were raised for a war that never happened.

Your advice looks good on paper, but in reality I could read every self help book known and still feel the same. I have no happy experiences in my life to look back on. These are emotional scars. I come from a family who thinks they are positive when in fact they are very negative. I have never known anything else and live like a hermit. Self sabotage may in fact be a mechanism to prevent further damage to the self esteem by shutting down all operations until the inner child is adequately protected. Aversion and introspection may in fact aid healing. The other problem is re-integration into what may be conceived as a normal enviornment. This too takes time. Problem is who the hell really wants to hang with someone who is not even sure what normal is. I do not trust people either. I think growing up as a witness is a defeatest mindset. " Why bother with the world or anything in it if it is all going to be destroyed. Why get involved in this or that?" I mean shit they didn't just sabotage my mind they sabotaged my entire life. Fu%%^^& , a person has to be allowed to win sometime or they become cowed like a dog if you beat him for too long. Whenever your doing well, people see that and they get jealous and start looking for ways to fu. I must protect my inner child so that he won't get hurt anymore. He can't take anymore, I know him. I feel like a target and it's not my imagination.

When I was 31 years old I couldn't resist asking my 93 year old grandmother what she thought of death. She was very tired looking and her attention was perked as her eyes opened wide as if out of a fog. She nonchalantly said "Oh well we all gotta go sometime. She remained single for 27 years after my grandfathers death. She literally outlived everyone she knew in her lifetime. It was only the next logical step for her. She was tired and needed to rest. She literally died laughing. All things must pass and as a matriarch she left a wonderful example of how to die by always being positive and never complaining. She was also a witness and was smart enough to know who her keepers were. She beleived in god but in private told me that the witnesses were full of shit. Way to play em granny. She still listened to her gut in the end.

Evidence and logic is why I like Richard Dawkins. As intelligent beings we should demand nothing less. If there is a god, he gave us the intelligence to examine and question our surroundings and come to our own conclusions. I don't think that if he did exist that he would be very pleased with people who bury there heads in tradition and don't exercise there natural cuiosity. Perhaps in the end it is science that will define God if there is one. It may not even be at all what we thought. Wouldn't it be better just to know, even if it hurts, so that we can all move along towards our collective destinies, and set our agendas accordingly. It seems that science is the only institution that is providing answers and solving problems. Atheism is not satanic, it is courageous and bold. It is saying that we don't need god to be decent because we have intelligence. It is saying that evil is not the product of satan but an ill in our flesh that may be adressed in the future as a destructive human urge that needs corection. If we learn that we have the ability to solve our own problems what purpose will god then have in our lives? If he chose to reveal himself then I suppose I could start some kind of relationship, but we are obviously not ready, or he is simply not there. Until then I will enjoy the splendor of this universe the best way I know how. Without religion!
